How are you today?
This is the question I ask every time I come on board at the beginning of my shift.
But I didn't ask the question one day this week. Why?
Here's why. This is the face that welcomes me as soon as I hit the floor.
All my coworkers from the outgoing shift look the same.
The MAR books lie all over the station. Several charts bear blue flags meaning there are new orders. The patient call lights sound in unison with a bed alarm going off. There are no questions asked. I start working right away. There's barely time for even incomplete reports about my patients. Reports I need to help finish the work the outgoing shift didn't have time for.
But there are no complaints. No judging. These kind of shifts do happen. Busy. Crazy.
My unit seems so busy this week. Full of frowns. What does your workplace look like? Full of smiles, or frowns?

That's a great photo :) I'm lucky, where I work everyone is happy to be there - that's rare! I've worked many places where people (including me) were frowning!
I can't say the same my dear. My heart goes out to you and your co-workers. I have been there in that environment. It's tough.
THAT is a photo with character!
What a wonderful profile.
Now that's a professional pose. Well done.
Perfect photo for this post! There are a lot of unhappy people at my work place, we have situations that mgmt refuse to take control of it and it's making for a miserable work force. Happy Holidays to you!

I hope all your days aren't that crazy.
Thanks for stopping by, guys.
The rest of my week was not as bad but was not great either. It could have been worse though.
